The Evil Dead as mentioned is now 30 years old but prepare to be shocked and revolted none-the-less. The first is that while 4K has four times the pixel resolution of Blu-Ray, there seems to be no additional detail here over the previous 2010 US Anchor Bay Limited Edition Blu-Ray version.

I also find the beginning excruciatingly slow – it takes almost 40 minutes for anything to really happen. Sam Raimi may well have gone on to make the hugely successful teen-friendly Spiderman series but The Evil Dead is true gory horror at it’s most disgusting finest.Well, the first one turned out to be a nice upgrade, if also a little bit of a compromise (hint: hold onto one of your older special editions). remixes, you are out of luck because like past releases, the original mono soundtrack is nowhere to be found. This collectable pack also features collectible Necronomicon packaging, 16 pages of original drawings and a 23 cm replica prop of the dagger from Evil Dead 2.
