About this deal

sounds like I'm either miss-remembering or it's changed, can you confirm only the "streamer" needs the movie? This even extends to how clear the dialogue is, diminishing with distance from the camera to help give the sense of a 3D space.

Sure, nothing really comes out of the camera, but the infinite depth in an environment like space adds to the whole experience. As Gravity is clearly meant to be seen in 3D on the largest cinema screen possible (Imax or similar), I very much doubt the story and characters are compelling enough to sustain interest once all the immersive spectacle is stripped away for the home video environment. It showed that 3D can be used for Drama as well as spectacle - and looks set to usher into an alternative genre of 3D films. Despite its billing as an "IMAX 3D Experience" in theaters, Gravity was shot and presented using a traditional 2.

Critics, including our own Katey Rich and Sean O’Connell have praised its stunning cinematography, awesome performances, and amazing direction. As a Blu-ray, this 3D set is definitely the way to go -- giving viewers that window into another world feeling -- though the two dimensional version is nice too. Picture: More so than even Avatar, Gravity is a film that simply demands to be seen in 3D – and Warner Home Video’s stereoscopic MVC 2. It knows when to ramp up and give the audience a breather, but it never ever, ever cuts away and lets you leave your protagonist.

One particularly evocative shot finds the doctor curled into a loose fetal position, floating serenely in a sunlit, womb-like airlock, with umbilical cables hanging behind her. Years from now, it's one of those films about which you'll say, "I can remember the first time I saw that. One that draws you into its orbit with its spectacular digital effects and edge-of-the-seat thrills, but keeps you hooked through its intimate characterisation. From the opening nail-biting collision sequence to Ryan's depleting oxygen levels, Cuaron's use of subjective point-of-view shots, frantic close-ups and eerily tranquil wides create a palpably visceral landscape. The movie stars Sandra Bullock as Ryan, an imperilled astronaut who is left stranded in zero orbit after floating debris collides with the International Space Station.Granted, my local Atmos cinema has a far more expensive sound system than my personal setup, but this Blu-ray is ever-so-slightly shy of the home cinema perfection I was expecting.

In some ways, post can never achieve what you can get from native or stereo-rendered 3D, particularly when it comes to shooting close-ups of human faces, but you will often get the best results and the best audience experience by putting both into play,” he says. His character is just the space partner Bullock’s character needs, and I’ll leave it at that before I give away too much. Not only can no one hear you scream but they also can't hear the high-speed bullet-like impact of debris tearing through your ship and leaving you stranded in the great abyssal vacuum. is no longer a gag or a gimmick, and as the technology continues to improve it will serve as just another tool in the filmmaker’s toolkit.Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more. As such, this review will contain one quickie (hopefully) zero-spoiler review followed by a more in-depth version that, reader be warned, will dance around mid to later plot points, twists, and setpieces. Cuarón has stated, as James Cameron had before him , that he had to wait for the technology to exist before he could get his vision to the screen.

Additionally, once they are drifting away from the ISS, disconnecting from Kowalski would not cause her to rebound back toward the ISS unless another force pulled her back in its direction.

The film’s direction and visuals notwithstanding, it really is the screenplay I have issues with here.
