About this deal

During testing the unit was able to fill the 216cc cylinder on an Air Arms S410 Classic from 90 Bar to 200 BAR in as little as 4.5 minutes. The adjustable, automatic shut-off allows you to set the compressor to the exact fill pressure of your rifle (up to 300 Bar) and the unit stops when that pressure is reached. On the other hand, PCP pumps are favored by more serious and dedicated airsoft and paintball enthusiasts. These pumps allow users to charge a reservoir with high-pressure air. PCP pumps are known for their reliability and can be used repeatedly, making them a cost-effective choice for those who engage in these sports regularly.

Both Co2 canisters and PCP pumps are designed with safety in mind. Co2 canisters feature pressure relief valves to prevent over-pressurization, and PCP pumps are equipped with gauges to monitor and control the air pressure. Additionally, they are easy to handle and transport, making them suitable for players of all skill levels. Weighing in at a modest 7.3kg and measuring only 305 x 225 x 150mm (L x W x H) this portable compressor can be powered from any 240V UK mains outlet (UK spec. power cord included). But don’t feel the need to stay put. If you have a car you have a fill source! The Air Rover can also operate from a 12V car battery (‘Jump Leads’ included)—a real lifesaver for PCP airgunners filling up at the range or in the field. No matter where your air gunning takes you, the Air Rover will keep you aired up and ready to shoot. As mentioned, BSA’s compressor gives the user the choice of running it from a car battery, but given that the majority of shooters will opt for the rather more civilised route of mains plug-in, I’ll cover that process first. Last on the list of filling options is the hand pump. These are not bicycle tire pumps, but ones made specifically for airgunners. Using a hand pump is the ultimate in self-sufficiency, and they’re comparatively inexpensive. Because we ourselves are quite skeptical about the proliferation of all kinds of compressors, we were pleasantly surprised when we were offered this compressor from one of our suppliers to test it out.

Of course, there is the issue of warm air expanding, so with everything warming during the charging process, you might see a small drop in pressure when everything cools and settles. Close inspection and monitoring will tell you if the gauge needs to be pre-set just a little higher to take this ‘settling’ into account, and if that’s the case, it’s easily done, given the small drop-down marker on the gauge. Of course, this small element of trial and error, in the interests of being ultra-precise, is at the outset. Thereafter, with the gauge finely set, precise fills should be guaranteed. When dealing with high-pressure air, it does pay to have your wits about you and respect the system. That said, operation here is pretty straight forward, with the process as follows: Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA. It works only in coordination with the primary cookie. It’s all very simple, and when the correct pressure is reached, the unit automatically turns off, signified by the illuminated ‘Off’ button. Bleed the airline, disconnect and you’re done. Mark Camoccio tests the new BSA Portable PCP Compressor, which provides air for your PCP air rifle wherever you go!

Connect the push-fit mains cable, and plug into the mains. Gentle fans can now be heard to start up. I’ve always favoured a dedicated pump, but whilst I desperately need the exercise, this mini-workout regimen isn’t for everyone. By far the most popular method is to own a diver’s bottle from which to charge the gun from the bottle, and over time, have the bottle refilled and eventually safety-tested, by an authorised diving shop/gun shop. In conclusion, the production and availability of Ballistic Co2 gas canisters and PCP pumps are essential for the airsoft and paintball communities. Related products

The 12 V DC or 220 V AC connection makes it possible to use the compressor in home or on location on 12V from a car's battery. An automatic shut down can what can be adjusted on the digital displayso the compressor shuts off when the setpoint is reached. (Never leave the compressor unattended) We have also taken the time to write a clear, comprehensive User Manual in ‘English, English’ so that users can use their new compressor safely and efficiently from the get-go Recently, our airgun expert Mat Manning received the following question from an airgunner which got us thinking about the best options when it comes to compressors for air guns. Airgun compressors are the most practical way of making sure an airgun stays full of air, particularly if you live somewhere fairly remote without a bottle filling service.
