These have featured in most of the other new NINJAGO sets and are also dotted around the Crystal King’s temple set. The thick plating of gold armor is offset by just a touch of white in the chest, feet, and wings, with small pops of color from the four elementally-themed heads. The 9 LEGO NINJAGO minifigures in this set feature an exclusive Golden Oni Lloyd, Golden Cole, Golden Zane, Golden Kai and Golden Jay, who are all armed with their elemental golden weapons, plus a Crystal King, 2 Vengestone Brutes and a Vengestone Warrior with bright weapons. Both feature a theme-exclusive dual-molded head, and printed lower bodies with a transparent dark pink leg.
Featuring a giant cast of nine minifigures, a weapon-studded throne, and a massive four-headed dragon, this is the most expensive set in the wave…but it’s notthe set with the most pieces. This dragon toy set features NINJAGO's biggest ever dragon, featuring 4 heads, posable legs and tail, and wings that unfold into 3 gold blades.
Side by side, you can see some similarities in design – both share the same rounded torso, foot design, and even have similar tail tips. Although the minifigure uses the same torso pieces as Garmodon, the Crystal King’s true identity has yet to be revealed by the TV series or the sets. The connection points for the dragon’s wings are held securely in place with slotted Technic beams and long pins. The selection of characters here means you have most of the core cast in one set (with the sad lack of any female characters) as well as a decent amount of baddies for them to interact with.
But it certainly doesn’t feel extensionally bigger than some of the other similar dragons from past NINJAGO sets. The first section might not actually qualify as “tail”, though, as it has the hinges for the rear legs.
The Crystal King’s throne is pretty much a throwaway build, though, and doesn’t really at much to the set or its play value. Top quality – Ever since 1958, LEGO bricks have been made to ensure they pull apart consistently every time. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. The combination of these elements allows them to be spread open or folded back, by twisting the blade cap, an element from the early days of the NINJAGO theme. LEGO Ninjago, also known as Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, theme was introduced in 2011 and included sets that are based off of original storylines, a TV series and The LEGO Ninjago Movie, a movie based on the theme.
