It just sounds like someone has played a bloke with an okay singing voice snippets of popular music movements of the past and told him to head into a studio and record an album which emulated all that music. Things is, I struggle to hear even a shred of originality on Sunny Side Up. I mean the bloke doesn’t have an awful voice, but it just sounds like he’s been given a lyric sheet and told to sing - there’s very little here that he sounds emotionally invested in on any level. On 19 February 2010, Colin Farrell presented Nutini with "Best International Album" for Sunny Side Up at the 2010 Meteor Awards.
